• What should I check before applying for pharmacy through Clearing?

  Pharmacy is a professionally focused subject, so check the entry requirements carefully before you apply. You may need specific science qualifications, and some courses may have additional conditions linked to professional practice or placement preparation.

• Is pharmacy only for people who want to work in a community pharmacy?

  No. Pharmacy can lead to different routes across healthcare, medicines, research, industry and patient-facing practice. Before applying, look at the course content and career information to see whether the route matches the type of pharmacy career you are interested in.

• Will I need to meet professional requirements for a pharmacy course?

  You may need to meet professional or course-specific requirements, depending on the pharmacy course. These could relate to health, conduct, placements or professional accreditation, so check the individual course details and ask the Clearing team if you are unsure.

• Do you accept foundation years from other universities for the Pharmacy MPharm?

  No. We do not accept foundation years completed at other universities.

  You can only progress to our MPharm Pharmacy course if you have completed:

  • the MPharm Pharmacy with Preparatory Year at the University of 糖心vlog蜜桃, or
  • the approved
• Do you accept BTECs for the Pharmacy MPharm course?

  We accept the BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science (including chemistry units) if you also have A-level Chemistry.

  We do not accept:

  • a BTEC without A-level Chemistry, or
  • BTECs in subjects other than Applied Science.
• Do I need GCSEs to study a pharmacy degree?

  Yes.

  You need GCSE English language and GCSE maths at grade 5 or grade B (or above) for both:

  • Pharmacy MPharm, and
  •  Pharmacy MPharm with Preparatory Year.
• Do you accept functional skills level 2 instead of GCSEs for the Pharmacy degree?

  No. Functional skills level 2 is equivalent to grade 4 GCSE and we require grade 5 GCSE for the MPharm courses. 

• Why aren't the entry grades lower for pharmacy courses in Clearing?

  Pharmacy is a professionally regulated course.

  Our entry requirements are approved by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), so we cannot reduce them for Clearing.

• Are there any other steps before I can receive an offer for a pharmacy degree?

  Yes.

  For Pharmacy MPharm, you must complete:

  • an interview, and
  • a maths test.

  For Pharmacy MPharm with Preparatory Year, you need to complete:

  • an interview.

  You do not need to take the maths test for the Preparatory Year
